More than $7.2M to be bonded out.

With a 4-1 vote by the Parsippany council this week, the township approved more than $7.8 million to use for capital improvement projects.

Of that total amount, however, $7,273,000 will be bonded out.

The improvements will cover a myriad of items, including a pick-up truck with a plow, transit van, forklift, six marked vehicles, street sweeper, passenger bus, two ambulances, and pavement roller among other items.

Software upgrades throughout the township are also needed, including a boost to the CADS record management system, full replacement of financial management system, and new computers for the library.

Some curbing and sidewalks in town will also be reconstructed with the funds as well as road improvements, including Vail Road, Reynolds Avenue, and Smith Road. Road drainage and paving amounted to the biggest ticket item, calling for a total of $4,907,000.
