Parsippany To Raise The Pride Flag Wednesday
Town officials began annually raising the pride flag in 2019.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — For the third straight year, Parsippany will raise the Pride flag at Town Hall. The town will livestream the event on Facebook at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Parsippany also issued a proclamation recognizing June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, recognizing the community's progress but also taking note of continued discrimination they face.
"We must commit to supporting and accepting LGBTQ+ individuals, in particular our youth, who compared to their peers are far more likely to experience violence and bullying at school; to suffer from depression; to struggle with substance use; and to have attempted suicide," says the proclamation Mayor Michael Soriano signed.
