Parsippany Teachers to Host Community Health Fair at PAL Building

April event will take place rain or shine.

Inside they classroom they’re teaching students, and outside, they’re helping the community at large.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Education Association is set to host a Community Health Fair on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Police Athletic League building at 33 Baldwin Road, rain or shine.

Those who attend will be offered a wide variety of free services, ranging from glucose and cancer screenings to helpful tips on fire prevention, first aid, CPR and disaster preparedness, the PTHEA said in a statement.

Participating organizations and their services include:

  • Parsippany-Troy Hills Health Department: Free blood pressure screenings, literature and advice about EMS, pest control, limited free first aid kits;
  • Morristown Hospital: Free glucose screenings for residents 18 years and older, information about cancer screenings;
  • Faster ER: Literature and advice about immunizations; fire prevention and home safety
  • American Red Cross: Information and advice about first aid, CPR and disaster preparedness;
  • American Cancer Society: Information about cancer screenings;
  • St. Clare’s Hospital: Mental health screenings, breast cancer screenings, thyroid screenings, dietician consultations;
  • Optical Academy: Discounted eye exams and eyeware ($30/exam, $ 29+/glasses). Reservation necessary. https://www.optical-academy.com/events/parsippany-pal/
