Parsippany Troop Leaders Show Commitment With 'Wood Badge' Training
In-depth training lasts nearly two years.

Boy Scout Troop 72 in Parsippany does plenty for the community, and raises young boys to become responsible, independent young man.
Much of that is thanks to its troop leaders, who have made a major commitment to leading the group for years to come.
In scouting, the Wood Badge is the pinnacle of adult leader training for all programs, consisting of various training phases that last nearly two years.

For Troop 72, eight of its leaders have attained the Wood Badge, with four having staffed multiple courses.
Course completion includes a three-day weekend of classroom instruction, another three-day weekend of outdoor training, and then an 18-month “application phase” in which the leader is tasked with accomplishing five goals to improve their local unit, district, or council.

Troop 72 has been serving Parsippany since 1954 and all boys between 11 and 17 are welcomed to come and learn more about the group.
