Parsippany Will Pay Over $600K To Retired Employees: Report
11 employees will receive the payout for unused sick and vacation time.

PARSIPPANY, NJ— Parsippany will have to pay retired police officers over $600,000 in unused sick and vacation time, NJ.com reported. This is the fifth year in a row the town has passed an emergency appropriation to cover the payouts.
The money will be paid out to 11 town employees, 7 of whom are police officers. The 7 police officers will receive $453,716 of the total $607,956.
The payouts are a result of Parsippany's policies that benefit police officers. Before 1999, there was no cap on the amount of sick or vacation time police officer could accrue.
