Pilgrim Pipeline Still Threatens

Meeting to Take Place Montville Library Soon. Don't Trust NJDEP to do anything but approve it if it gets that far. Christie again is silent

Public Awareness Notice from NJ Sierra Club..copied and pasted by ...NH.

The Pilgrim Pipeline proposed between Albany, New York and Linden, New Jersey will cut an ugly scar through the Highlands region and threaten the drinking water for more than half of New Jersey’s residents. This project would allow two pipelines to carry 200,000 barrels of extremely flammable Bakken crude oil south to New Jersey and refined products north to New York every day. A spill or explosion would be a disaster for communities along the route and is a huge public safety threat. These pipelines would also lead to more air pollution, increase fracking and dirty fuel infrastructure in our state, and further our impact on climate change.

Please join us for an upcoming meeting Tuesday, June 14th to discuss the project and learn how to stop it! The New Jersey Sierra Club is working with Princeton Hydro to conduct an environmental analysis of Pilgrim’s impacts to water quality in an effort to fight various NJDEP permits required for approval. Together with Princeton Hydro, we will be giving a free public presentation outlining the study, our efforts to stop the pipeline, and how the public can get involved.

The presentation will take place Tuesday, June 14 at 7:00 pm at the Montville Public Library on 90 Horseneck Road, Montville, NJ 07045.

To RSVP please contact Toni Granato at toni.granato@sierraclub.org

Looking forward to see you there!
