Pro Bono Partnership Announces New Board Members

Pro Bono Partnership (the Partnership) is pleased to announce that John P. Frantz, Esq. and Chan Lee, Esq. have been elected to its Board of Directors effective immediately.

“I am delighted to welcome John and Chan to our Board of Directors,” said Nancy Eberhardt, Executive Director of Pro Bono Partnership. “They are both enthusiastic and active supporters of the Partnership, and also great champions of pro bono within their companies, which is what makes our work possible. I’m looking forward to the contributions Chan and John will make to help us fulfill our mission of strengthening nonprofits and communities as the Partnership continues to grow,” she continued.

John P. Frantz is Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Media & Telematics at Verizon. Mr. Frantz leads the legal team supporting Verizon’s telematics, digital content, patent, and law enforcement functions.

Mr. Frantz is also the chair of Verizon’s pro bono program, a position he has held since its creation in 2009. Roughly 400 volunteers participate in the program each year, mentoring students in disadvantaged communities, assisting survivors of domestic violence, helping returning veterans secure benefits, and solving legal issues for nonprofits.

Prior to Verizon, Mr. Frantz was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Washington, D.C. and a law clerk to the Honorable Alex Kozinski on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in California. He is a graduate of Boston College and Harvard Law School.

Chan Lee is North America General Counsel and Legal Steering Committee member at Sanofi. Mr. Lee leads the North America Legal Team (includes Litigation and Government Investigations, Product Support and Regulatory Law, Market Access Legal, Employment Law, Legal Operations, and the Canadian Legal Team), which provides Sanofi with proactive, solutions-oriented legal counseling and engages in thoughtful risk taking to help achieve business objectives.

Prior to this position, Mr. Lee was Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel for Pfizer’s Global Innovative Health and a law clerk to William T. Allen of the Delaware Chancery Court. He is a graduate of Cornell University and University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. In February 2018, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund recognized Mr. Lee as a Justice in Action Honoree.
