Psychiatric Patients Coronavirus Positives Continue To Rise In NJ

NEW JERSEY - The number of new coronavirus, or COVID-19, positives continue to rise in psychiatric hospitals around the state according to the New Jersey Department of Health.

Across the state, there are 1,250 patients split among several facilities and 161 patients tested positive. In New Jersey there are 422 staff members COVID-19 positive as of Friday. Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, Parsippany has the highest number of COVID-19 deaths per facility, with five since the outbreak. Nine people have died across New Jersey in these facilities, according to officials.

Greystone also has the highest number of patient outbreaks with 106 while Trenton Psychiatric Hospital has the highest number of staff positives at 224.

• Total Positive Patients: 60
• Total Positive Staff: 80

• Current Patient Census: 393

Ann Klein Forensic Center

• Total Positive Patients: 16
• Total Positive Staff: 22
• Total Patient Deaths: 0
• Current Patient Census: 179

Trenton Psychiatric Hospital

• Total Positive Patients: 38
• Total Positive Staff: 214
• Total Patient Deaths: 3
• Current Patient Census: 342
