Yesterday, the Red Hawks soared high and beat the Hornets of Hanover Park! The Boys team won 69-67 and the Girls won 71-69.
Great performance and a complete team effort by both teams.
Still waiting on the stats on the boys victory but in the meantime, here are the stats from Coach D on the Girls:
- Senior Jennifer Mlynar placed 1st in the 800 in 3:34, 2nd in the 400IH in 68.8, 2nd in the 100HH in 16.5, and 2nd in the high jump, clearing 4'10".
- Bria Saunders placed first in three events: the 100 in 12.4, 57.8 in the 400 :) and
- Emily Fales won the shot put with a PR of 29'6".
- Kelly Higinbotham placed 3rd in the 100HH in 18.0 and 3rd in the high jump, clearing 4'4".
- Ally Schlosser won the 1600 in 5:24 and won the 3200 in a personal best of 11:40.
- Samantha Pignatelli placed second in the 1600 with a time of 5:32 and 2nd in the 800 in 2:37.
- Katie Hsu stepped up a ran the two mile to take third place in 12:53. Cristina Fernandez had a great day, running a PR of 5:49 in the mile and completing her first two mile in 13:03.
- Gabby Rachmaciej placed 3rd in the 400IH in 74.0 and 3rd in the 800 in 2:38.
- The mile relay team of Megan Wizniewski, Nicole Herrera, Gabby Rachmaciej, and Ally Schlosser finished 1st in a time of 4:28.
- Kathryn Campbell won the javelin and placed second in the discus. Liliana Ferrera placed third in the discus to score her first varsity point!
Correction to an earlier posted. I incorrectly stated that Boys and Girls had opening season losses to Morristown-Beard and Whippany Park. Actually, the boys and girls team defeated Morristown-Beard. So Boys and Girls Team both have a record of 2-1.
