Rockaway Meadow School Celebrates the World
Students experienced many different cultures from around the planet in an event promoting respect and understanding.
Students at Lake Hiawatha's Rockaway Meadow Elementary School got to be world travelers at the school's annual World Day on Monday.
With the help of parent volunteers and students from Parsippany Hills High School's Spanish Honor Society and Indian Culture Club, the boys and girls traveled from classroom to classroom to experience bits of culture from four different countries.
Organizers say the event was designed to celebrate diversity and to teach kids to respect other people and cultures.
