Officials expect the closure to remain in place throughout the morning. Plan ahead because of heavy delays.

The accident occurred on Route 10 around Yacenda Drive — near the Denville border — according to state officials.

The driver appeared to lose control and crashed into a utility pole, causing all utility lines to fall to the ground, according to Parsippany Police Sgt. Brian Conover. The accident also took down two utility poles and a light pole, Conover told Patch.

The crash made about 1,700 customers lost power Monday night in the Route 10/Old Dover Road/Powder Mill area. Only 42 people in Parsippany remain without power as of 8 a.m. Tuesday, with an estimated restoration of 9:30 a.m., according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

JCP&L and Verizon are on site as of Tuesday morning.

This is a developing story. Patch will update.
