Route 53 Closure Due To Crash That Downed Pole, Wires In Morris County
Officials expect the closure in both directions to last through the Monday evening rush hour.

DENVILLE, NJ — Part of Route 53 is closed because of a crash that downed a utility pole and wires, according to Denville police. Officials expect the closure to last through the Monday evening rush hour.
The road is closed in both directions from Indian Road to Bloomfield Avenue, police announced at 4:20 p.m. Monday on Nixle.
Northbound traffic is getting detoured onto Indian Rd to North Shore Rd to Franklin Rd to Route 46. There is no access to the Route 80 eastbound ramp or Route 53 southbound from Route 46 as of the Nixle announcement.

The best course of action is to utilize Route 10 — from either 287 or Franklin Road — to access Route 53 in Parsippany, police said. Drivers can also use Route 46 East to Fox Hill Road to Route 53.
Traffic can still utilize the Route 53 North ramp to access Denville Center from Route 46 East.
