Snow Piles Up in Parsippany, Frigid Temperatures Returning

February's weary weather continues.

If it’s not the ever-growing piles of snow, it’s the unbearable temperatures. And recently it’s been a relentless combination of both.

According to the National Weather Service, the Parsippany area received another three inches of snow Monday night into Tuesday, which led to yet another 90-minute delayed opening for local schools.

The Lake Hopatcong area was tops with 3.8 inches of snow, while Succasunna notched just two inches. Nearby Butler had 2.5 inches of snow..

While the snow continues to mount and plows continue to navigate the area’s roadways, even colder temperatures are coming back to end the week.

Temperatures Wednesday will peak at 24 degrees, the National Weather Service showed, but will plummet Thursday and Friday, with highs 14 and 13 degrees, respectively. A Thursday night low of -5 is expected in the area with winds of up to 16 miles per hour to blow through town.

With those weekend temperatures, however, comes another chance of snow Saturday, followed by snow and rain Sunday.
