State Aid to Parsippany Schools Remains Flat for 2013

Figures released Thursday show the district is tapped to receive the same amount it received last year.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills School District will receive the same amount for 2013-14 in state aid as it did last year.

The New Jersey Department of Education released state aid numbers Thursday afternoon, which show Par-Troy schools receiving $4,479,502 for the second year in a row.

Superintendent of Schools LeRoy Seitz was not available for comment Thursday afternoon.

With aid remaining flat, the district can proceed with crafting a spending plan for 2013-14. Part of the proposed budget—that covering buildings and grounds capital projects—was discussed at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting at Parsippany Hills High School.

A special school board public session addressing the 2013-14 budget will take place next Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the BOE administrative building at 292 Parsippany Road.
