Spend The Night At The NJ Camp Where 'Friday The 13th' Was Filmed

Tickets are still available for April 13, but they sell out quickly. Horror lovers should snag their tickets for a Crystal Lake Tour soon.

HARDWICK, NJ — Most summer camps are fairly happy places, filled with outdoor activities and new friendships, but one New Jersey summer camp has come to be associated with a machete-wielding lunatic.

"Friday The 13th," the 1980s cult classic movie about a murderer terrorizing a summer camp, was shot on location at Boy Scout Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco (or Camp No-Be) in northern New Jersey, leading legions of fans to ask, "How can I visit?"

For most of the year, the answer is a swift no; it is an active Boy Scout camp, after all. But on rare Friday the 13ths, the camp opens up official fan tours for those lucky enough to snag tickets and this time, brave movie buffs can spent the night.

This Friday the (April) 13, the camp is offering two daytime tours and an overnight, VIP experience. There will also be an afternoon and an overnight tour on April 14.

The overnight ticket includes a tour of the camp, dinner in the historic dining hall, a "first-time-ever special evening activity" and a "once-in-a-lifetime activity in the morning" with Adrienne King. Read more about VIP tours here.

They range in price from $135 for a morning tour to an auction sale for overnight tickets (its not clear how much organizers are expecting them to go for).

Tickets sell out famously fast, so horror fans interested in camping out should buy their tickets soon.

"Unfortunately, the least favorite part of the tour for us are the hours following the ticket sales," volunteer organizers wrote in a blog post. "With over 12,000 fans interested in this relatively tiny event, there are going to be many that are disappointed that they didn't get a ticket. There's just no way to make everyone happy. All we can do is promise that we'll continue to work to get approvals for additional tours in the future."

If you miss tickets for this tour, you can take steps to make grabbing them for the next one easier. Tours and ticket on-sale times are announced to fans via email. Joining the Camp No-Be email is list is the best way to ensure you can get your ticket next time.
