A significant flooding event is expected to unfold tomorrow into Thursday as the remnants of Ida move through the area. Rain will arrive during the pre-dawn hours tomorrow. After a period of rain, activity turns intermittent but will be around through the day. The most concerning window is tomorrow evening into the overnight as several hours of torrential rain is expected. This will cause widespread areas of flooding to develop, some of which will be significant and damaging. Overall, 4.00 - 6.00" of rain (with locally higher amounts) is expected before it tapers off during the pre-dawn on Thursday. This coupled with the saturated grounds from Henri's rain last week will lead to rapidly developing areas of flash flooding along with streams/creeks quickly overflowing their banks and leading to road closures. Also, winds increase tomorrow night and although they won't be overly gusty, they can be enough to down some trees and cause power outages thanks to the saturated grounds. Finally, not to be overlooked is the potential for river flooding that can linger through the week and into the weekend.
