Ulta Beauty Opening New Parsippany Location
The beauty store will join the Whole Foods and Shake Shack in the upcoming Waterview Marketplace.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — An Ulta Beauty store has been announced for the Waterview Marketplace in Parsippany, the property management company announced.
Ulta will join Whole Foods and Shake Shack in the plaza, which is expected to open later this year after years of delays and legal battles. It will be 10,500 square feet, according to RD Management.
The beauty store sells a mix of high-end and drug store cosmetics, along with other personal care items. Some stores offer hair, nail, skin and eyebrow services, but it's not clear if the Parsippany location will. A location recently opened in Hanover that offers all those services (you can check out what that location offers here).

“Having Ulta Beauty as a tenant is reflective of one of the major themes in retail today, which is that wellness, fitness and personal care providers are making significant in-roads in the marketplace. People want to feel and look good, and retailers like Ulta Beauty have captured a significant segment of that market,” said Todd Cooper Co-Founder at Ripco Real Estate. “At Ripco, we are constantly focusing on trends and themes that will make the properties we work with more appealing to the local communities and surrounding areas they serve.”
Waterview Plaza is being built on Route 46, between Waterview Boulevard and Intervale Road, and has been the subject of controversy since the Whole Foods was first announced in 2012. Many residents were excited the upscale grocer was coming to town, while others said the proposed location would negatively impact nearby homes. The company was originally hoping to open in 2015, a date that's long passed as the developer, RD Management, sued the township over zoning requirements.

Eventually the town council denied the project, and RD Management refiled plans for the plaza in mid-2014, omitting townhouses.
