Universal COVID-19 Testing Completed In NJ Psych Facilities

NEW JERSEY - Universal COVID-19 testing has been completed in all New Jersey psychiatric facilities according to Department of Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli.

Persichilli's announcement at Wednesday's COVID-19 briefing came the same day that the psych facilities numbers were released, showing an uptick in infections for both patients and staff.

Across the state, there are 1,235 patients split among several facilities and 211 patients tested positive, an increase of two from last week. In New Jersey there are 483 staff members COVID-19 positive as of Wednesday, an increase of 12 over last week. Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, Parsippany has the highest number of COVID-19 deaths per facility, with five since the outbreak. There have been 13 patient deaths across New Jersey in these facilities and seven staff deaths, according to officials.

Ancora Psychiatric Center also has the highest number of patient outbreaks with 88 while Trenton Psychiatric Hospital has the highest number of staff positives at 240.

Greystone Psychiatric Hospital

• Total Positive Patients: 58
• Total Positive Staff: 117 (an increase of one)
• Total Patient Deaths: 5
• Current Patient Census: 343 (an increase of four)

Ancora Psychiatric Center

• Total Positive Patients: 88
• Total Positive Staff: 96 (an increase of eight)
• Total Patient Deaths: 4
• Current Patient Census: 370 (a decrease of five)

Ann Klein Forensic Center

• Total Positive Patients: 17
• Total Positive Staff: 30 (an increase of one)
• Total Patient Deaths: 0
• Current Patient Census: 179

Trenton Psychiatric Hospital

• Total Positive Patients: 48 (an increase of two)
• Total Positive Staff: 240 (an increase of two)
• Total Patient Deaths: 4
• Current Patient Census: 349 (an increase of 13)
