Veterans' Outreach Fair Brings Info, Opportunities to Those Who Served
Vendors provide information on jobs, health and services
Saturday the Parsippany Police Athletic League was the site of a Veterans' Outreach Fair presented by Mayor James Barberio and the Mayor’s Council on Veterans Affairs. The intent of the program was to provide men and women who served in the military information about some of the services that might benefit them.
The event included more than 70 vendors presenting opportunities for veterans to learn about the many services available to them. The vendors present ranged from VITAS Hospice to government agencies, nonprofit groups and organizations such as the VFW and American Legion. Others were work-related: Efforts like Helmets to Hard Hats and the Carpenters Local 254, offered opportunities for veterans to return to the civilian workforce.
