How often have you wondered how clean your lake and river water is? And, if it’s clean because it’s been chemically treated, how good is that for people and the other critters that share the waterways? The Whippany River Watershed Action Committee (WRWAC) is sponsoring a Water Study event for students and adults. Naturalist Rich Hoffman will answer these questions and more. Explore with Rich the local living fresh water biology and learn scientific ways to test water. Rich Hoffman is an instructor at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center.
The Water Study will take place on July 13th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mountain Lakes’ Birchwood Lake. The WRWAC asks that you sign up by July 12th as there is a limit of 20 people. Sign up by emailing: facilitator@wrwac.org. The group will meet at 10 am at the entrance to Birchwood Beach, end of West Shore Road, Mountain Lakes. Perceived value donations are accepted by the WRWAC.
