You're Invited to NewBridge Services' Legacy of Hope Gala, May 9
NewBridge, which serves the Parsippany community, will honor Carolyn Beauchamp, leader of Mental Health Association in NJ

NewBridge Services will honor Carolyn Beauchamp, longtime President and CEO of the Mental Health Association in New Jersey, at its 2019 Legacy of Hope Gala on May 9
Beauchamp will receive NewBridge’s Helping People Move Forward Award for a lifetime of providing leadership in the field of public mental health. The celebration will be held at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains.
As head of the Mental Health Association in New Jersey for more than 30 years, Beauchamp has developed programs that empower people with mental illness and created a strong statewide consumer voice that affects policy decisions at the highest levels. Beauchamp has marshaled diverse groups, including corporations, the education community and government agencies, to reduce stigma and increase access to mental health treatment.

Early in her career, Beauchamp was NewBridge’s director of community outreach and helped Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital patients transition to the outside world. She created a program to teach boarding house owners social work basics to better understand residents with mental illness. She also helped NewBridge create New Jersey’s first long-term community residence for older adults hospitalized five years or more.
The 2019 Legacy of Hope Gala, NewBridge’s largest fundraiser of the year, begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 and features a cocktail hour, open bar, dinner, dancing, a silent auction and much more. Tickets are $150 a person, and proceeds help the nonprofit serve more than 7,200 children, adults and seniors a year through programs in counseling, housing and education.
