• Utility Work to Affect Roads in Hopewell Borough and Township (mercerme.com) — If you drive between Pennington and Hopewell, expect delays soon on Hopewell-Pennington Road as Elizabethtown Gas starts utility work Oct. 5 with single-lane closures and truck detours. At the same time, New Jersey American Water is continuing water-main construction on West Broad Street in Hopewell Borough, which may briefly affect water service and pressure for nearby residents.
   

• Rain Doesn't Stop Hopewell Tour Des Arts (mercerme.com) — Despite a very rainy weekend, the Hopewell Tour Des Arts still drew visitors into studios and galleries across Hopewell Valley, with indoor venues and the new Hopewell Valley Stage keeping art and music going. Looking ahead, the Hopewell Valley Arts Council's Amazing Pumpkin Carve opens Oct. 8 at Needle Creek Brewery in Pennington, giving locals another nearby fall arts outing.
