• Piscataway targets hotel crime with fines, new security rules (mycentraljersey.com) — Piscataway officials are moving to crack down on crime at local hotels with a proposed ordinance that could label problem properties as nuisances, impose steep daily fines, and mandate new security systems. The measure, building on February’s hotel licensing law, will get a public hearing June 11 and could shift more safety-related costs from taxpayers to hotel owners.
