• Luxury Apartments, Restaurant and Rooftop Pickleball Planned for Plainfield (jerseydigs.com) — Plainfield’s planning board has approved a five‑story mixed‑use project on West Front Street that will bring 98 luxury apartments, a restaurant, and rooftop pickleball courts to Route 28. Backed by a 30‑year PILOT agreement, the development adds parking, amenities, and new housing near Dunellen and major roadways, with construction possibly starting in spring 2027. 
• Bernel Harrison Signs Off After 25 Years of Policing and Mentoring Plainfield (tapinto.net) — Plainfield turned out to honor Officer Bernel Harrison as he retired after 25 years of service, many of them spent mentoring local youth in schools and neighborhoods. From founding the Queen City Mentoring Academy to coaching and creating childcare solutions, Harrison focused on treating residents with humanity and building trust, and he plans to keep supporting Plainfield students even in retirement.
