POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Authorities resumed their search Tuesday for a Brick Township man who went missing when his family's boat capsized in Manasquan Inlet.

The investigation into the incident is continuing, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said, but video captured by a surf camera shows the moment the boat was overturned by a large wave just outside the inlet.

Authorities are using side-scan sonar to search for Derek Narby, 21, who was believed to be in the cabin of the boat when it was swamped by the wave Thursday evening, Curry said.

The 31-foot 1987 Aquasport broke apart after it capsized. The stern was found in 30 feet of water off the north jetty of Manasquan Inlet, and pieces of the boat washed ashore in Seaside Heights, Curry said.

Curry did not have information on how much of the boat remains with the stern piece, or the size of the pieces found in Seaside Heights.

The 2-minute video clip posted to Facebook, from the Manasquan side of the inlet, shows the boat driving toward the inlet, and slowing down as it reaches the mouth of the inlet. Waves can be seen breaking across the top of the jetty, and the boat turns a spotlight on in what looks like an attempt to better see where the jetty is located. As the spotlight is lighting the jetty, a large wave can be seen breaking behind the boat, and then the boat rolls over and the light disappears.

Narby's father and brother were rescued from the inlet Thursday night but sea conditions from Hurricane Lee have hampered the search, as it was too dangerous for divers to anchor and try to swim down to the wreck.
