Description:&nbsp;&nbsp;Join Coastline Adventures and Toms River Recreation for four day-long camp for beginner and intermediate level surfers.&nbsp;&nbsp;Learn and practice ocean awareness and surfing techniques includes both board and water-based lessons and progressive skill building.&nbsp; Surfers will learn about wave and weather reports, beach and ocean conditions and related safety protocols, surfboard handling and etiquette, wave selection and riding techniques, environmental and conservation tips, interactive games, and more!!!
Requirements:&nbsp; Participants MUST know how to swim.
Equipment:&nbsp; Surfboard, leash and rash guards are provided for use during class.&nbsp; Participants may bring their own rash guards or wetsuits.&nbsp; Beach badges are NOT required to attend class or for guardians to watch class but are required if participants or guardians plan on staying after class ends.
Coastline Adventures Surfing School is accredited by the National Surf/SUP Schools and Instructors Association and brings over 30 years of professional experience providing safe, high-quality surf, bodyboard, and stand-up paddleboard instruction throughout the Jersey Shore. Led by Lance Tompkins and Jennifer Steffener, both NSSIA Certified Master Level Surf Instructors, the school combines nationally recognized training standards with deep local knowledge of Ocean County beaches, bays, tides, and weather conditions. Their approach blends skill development, ocean and bay safety and education, confidence building, fitness, and environmental awareness in a fun, supportive setting. Lance brings over 50 years of surfing experience and decades of teaching board sports, while Jennifer contributes over 30 years of surfing, bodyboarding, paddleboarding, wellness, and movement instruction experience. Together, they have successfully taught thousands of participants through recreation departments, schools, camps, and private programs. The Knights Columbus Council 3231 is running the 23rd Annual Bernie Kerrigan Charity Golf Outing on Monday, August 31st at the Pebble Creek Golf Course in Colts Neck. The Knights are again asking for your continued support.
This is the major fundraiser for the council that has raised tens of thousands of dollars over the last decade. We are looking for individual golfers, foursomes of golfers, a t-sign or sponsorship to help support many parish charities and events plus other community projects. With the St Denis’ strong support, Council 3231 been ranked one of the top-rated councils in New Jersey and have close to 175 members from St. Mark and St. Denis parishes.
The cost for the outing, which includes breakfast, lunch, beverages and a goody bag, is $175 per player.
