Republicans Lead Point Pleasant Beach Council Race: Unofficial Tallies
Two candidates for the Board of Education were separated by about 250 votes, according to unofficial results.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — The Republican candidates were leading for both seats on the Borough Council according to unofficial results from Tuesday's election.
Newcomer Arthur Gant Sr. had received 921 votes, and incumbent Caryn Byrnes had 802 votes, according to the unofficial tallies. Democrat Lawrence Schwartz had 703 votes, according to the unofficial results published on the Ocean County Clerk's website.

Republican Douglas Vitale, who was unopposed for mayor, had received 1,220 votes in the unofficial tallies. The results of the election do not become official until they are certified by the Ocean County Clerk about Nov. 22.
