People woke up Saturday and probably thought the weather forecast was a whole lot of nothing. But the snow finally got here, and it had an impact.

The snow caused state and local officials to impose speed restrictions, drivers to spin out in accidents and school officials to change their schedules.

The National Weather Service held fast to its predictions, even expanding the areas that are under a winter-weather advisory.

The weather system held steady into the evening, and ice formed as the temperature dropped, and winds picked in certain areas.

Here are the impacts on roads:

  • Ben Franklin Bridge: Speed restriction on the Ben Franklin Bridge in both directions; 35 miles per hour due to roadway conditions., THE FOOTWALK AT THE BFB WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO ICE CONDITIONS.
  • Walt Whitman Bridge: Speed restriction on the Walt Whitman Bridge in both directions; 35 miles per hour due to roadway conditions.
  • Commodore Barry Bridge: Speed restriction on the Commodore Barry Bridge in both directions; 35 miles per hour due to roadway conditions.
  • Betsy Ross Bridge: Speed restriction on the Betsy Ross Bridge in both directions; 25 miles per hour due to roadway conditions.
  • NJ 3: Overturned vehicle on NJ 3 westbound ramp to northbound NJ 17 in Rutherford. Right lane and exit ramp closed.
  • Garden State Parkway: Vehicle off the roadway on the Garden State Parkway express lanes southbound north of Asbury Toll Plaza in Tinton Falls. All lanes open to traffic.
  • NJ 41: Electrical Repairs and emergency construction on NJ 41 southbound at CR 626/Chapel Ave. in Cherry Hill Twp. Right lane closed.
  • Bayonne Bridge: Speed restrictions were implemented on the Bayonne Bridge ; 25 miles per hour due to roadway conditions. That alert is no longer in effect, though officials said on Twitter that there still could be some residual delays.
  • Goethals Bridge: Speed restriction on the Goethals Bridge in both directions; 25 miles per hour due to roadway conditions until further notice.
  • Outerbridge Crossing: Speed restriction on the Outerbridge Crossing in both directions; 25 miles per hour due to roadway conditions until further notice.
