Point Pleasant Beach Little League President Charged With Stealing $10,000 in Little League Funds: Prosecutor

Vincent Cicalese is accused of withdrawing league money from local ATM machines.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office arrested the former president of the Point Pleasant Beach Little League on charges of computer theft and theft, after League officials reported that $10,000 was missing.

Vincent Cicalese, 57, could spend up to five to 10 years in prison for the second-degree computer theft charge and three to five years for the third-degree theft charge, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato said.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski set his bail at $25,000 cash.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Economic Crimes Unit began investigating after the Point Beach Little League board became suspicious and contacted authorities, Coronato said.

"The investigation alleges that during Vincent Cicalese’s tenure as President of the Point Pleasant Beach Little League, he stole approximately $10,000 from the Little League's bank account by withdrawing league money via ATM withdrawals in Point Pleasant Beach," Coronato said.

Cicalese was arrested Friday morning at his home just after 7:30 a.m. without incident by detectives from the OCPO Economic Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department, the prosecutor said.
