Point Pleasant Beach Moving Forward With Renovation Of Risden's Bathhouse

Borough purchased Sandy-damaged structure back in 2008.

Inspectors will finally be able to take a look at the pilings underneath the Superstorm Sandy-damaged Risden’s bathhouse, now that four feet of sand has been removed, according to the Ocean Star.

Councilman Andrew Cortes - who chairs the buildings and grounds committee - made the announcement at a recent Borough Council meeting.

Point Pleasant Beach purchased the bathhouse, concession stand and an adjacent parking lot back in 2008 with open space trust funds.

Cortes said the engineering firm of Barlow & Associates will now be able to do a complete reassessment of the underside of the building.

The plan was always to restore the building since the purchase. But there had been no formal offers to rent out the property, he said.
