Faced with declining state aid, Point Pleasant Boro taxpayers could face a school tax increase that would have them pay as much as $114 more a year.
That hike would be for a home assessed at $400,000, according to a video just published that outlines the Point Pleasant Boro School District’s proposed budget.

The district also plans to pay for projects such as:
- Continuing to replace indoor lighting at the high school, middle school and at Nellie Bennett
- Renovating the cafeteria and resurface the tennis court at the high school.
- Replacing the backstop at Memorial school
- Putting in new gym bleachers.
The district also took pride in having new courses at the high school such as criminal justice, intro to psychology and AP psychology and forensic science.

While dealing declining state aid, Point Pleasant noted that it continues to rank among the lowest in per-pupil spending for Ocean and Monmouth County K-12 school districts.
