Point Pleasant Residents Urged To Prepare For Significant Storm

With predictions of as much as 24 inches of snow, Point Pleasant authorities are reminding residents to get vehicles off streets.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Point Pleasant officials are urging residents to start preparing for a winter storm this weekend that is anticipated to bring significant snow to the Jersey Shore.

The National Weather Service's Mount Holly office is predicting 24 inches of snow or more for a wide swath of New Jersey, and urging people to make sure they are prepared.

Point Pleasant residents are reminded to move any vehicles from the roads so plows and emergency vehicles can operate safely, the borough police department said.

"We also ask residents and business owners to promptly shovel sidewalks to help keep pedestrians safe" and keep the sidewalks accessible, police said.

Plowing typically begins when there is about 4 inches of snow on the roads.
