Point Pleasant Schools Close Amid Snowstorm

The district announced the closure as snow fell at 1 to 2 inches per hour and was expected to continue into Monday.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Heavy snowfall and anticipated dangerous travel conditions have prompted a snow day for the Point Pleasant Borough School District.

The closure was announced Sunday afternoon for Monday's classes.

"Due to the current forecast of inclement weather, all district schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26, 2026. We will notify you of any additional schedule changes, if necessary," the district said.

The district's calendar said the emergency closing will be made up on Friday, Feb. 13, which had been scheduled as a day off for Presidents Weekend.

Also closed are the Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools. The vo-tech district also canceled evening adult education classes scheduled for Monday.
