School Budget Hearings Ahead in Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach
The districts are set to meet this week to hear budget details.
POINT PLEASANT, NJ — It's school budget hearing week in Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach.
Both towns' school districts are scheduled to meet this week and present the details of the 2023-24 school budgets, including adjustments in the state aid cuts they were anticipating.
The Point Pleasant Board of Education is set to meet Monday at 7 p.m. for its budget hearing, in the cafeteria at Ocean Road Elementary School.

The Point Pleasant school district was set for a $254,851 cut in its 2023-24 aid under Gov. Phil Murphy's proposed budget. But a flurry of activity by the state legislature resulted in the passage of an emergency supplemental state aid bill that would restore $168,202 of that cut.
In Point Pleasant Beach, the school board meeting set for 7 p.m. Tuesday will include a hearing on the 2023-24 budget. The district was slated for a state aid reduction of $3,386, but that would be wiped out under the emergency bill, which appropriates $3,606 for Point Pleasant Beach.

The Point Pleasant Beach hearing also should include some details of a possible referendum that is in the works to make repairs and capital improvements.
The Point Pleasant Beach hearing is set for G. Harold Antrim Elementary School on Niblick Street.
