UPDATE: Search For Bicycle Bank Robber In Point Pleasant Boro

The search continues for a suspect who fled a Point Pleasant​ Boro bank robbery Sunday on his bicycle, police said.

A search is underway for a suspect who fled a Point Pleasant Boro bank robbery Sunday on his bicycle, police said. Patch enhanced the photograph of the suspect fleeing on his bicycle.

The incident happened at approximately 11:15 a.m. when police responded to the TD Bank located at 3301 Bridge Ave. on a report of a bank robbery.

Bank employees stated that an unmasked suspect had entered the bank, displayed a note, and demanded money. The suspect was described as a white male, late 20s to early 30s, approximate 5 feet 8 inches tall with short blond hair and a thin build, police said.

The suspect was also described as having a tattoo on the left side of his neck. There was no weapon displayed.

The bank employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The suspect fled the bank, and was last seen traveling westbound on Bridge Avenue by bicycle with the currency, police said.

The bicycle used by the suspect was located in a wooden area west of the bank.

Officers were assisted on scene by our K-9 unit and officers from the Brick Township Police Department in the search for the suspect. Detectives from the Point Pleasant Police Department as well as the Ocean County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) also responded to assist with the investigation.
