Eleven Occupants, Dog, Safely Rescued From Capsized Boat In Point Pleasant Canal
None of boat's occupants were wearing flotation devices, police said.

State Troopers and a crew from Tow Boat U.S. were able to rescue 11 people and a dog after their boat capsized in the Point Pleasant Canal late Sunday afternoon, according to the New Jersey State Police Facebook page.
Trooper from the Point Pleasant Marine State received a call at 5:40 p.m. that a 21-foot boat was sinking in the canal near the Lovelandtown Bridge. The boat capsized and 11 occupants and the dog went into the water.
Troopers and Tow Boat U.S. were in the scene within minutes.

The Tow Boat U.S. crew were able pull two swimmers from the water. State Police used two police vessels to pull the remaining swimmers and the dog to safety. All of the boat occupants were accounted for and transported back to Point Pleasant for a medical evaluation by emergency medical services. All of the boat occupants refused medical attention and did not suffer any injuries.
"This incident could have quickly become a tragedy due to the fact that none of the boat occupants were wearing personal flotation devices," the post states."There is also no doubt that tragedy was averted due to the quick response of the troopers."
