VIDEO: Nor'easter Floods Point Pleasant Beach Streets
Breaking: Photos and video show waves and water at least 8 inches deep and coming over the Manasquan Inlet wall.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Nor'easter-driven waves and heavy rain flooded a number of streets in Point Pleasant Beach Monday night into Tuesday, and were slow to abate Tuesday morning.
The storm, which brought down trees, packed winds of 30 to 35 mph at its height with gusts of 50 to 60 mph and left standing water in a number of areas, including Point Pleasant Beach.
Video posted by Karen Rome to the National Weather Service's Mount Holly Facebook page shows standing water on Arnold Avenue as at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday. "This water is about 8 inches deep at least here, and I'm sure it's deeper in the middle. It is flooded for three or four blocks," she wrote.

A photo showing waves rushing around the pier and outdoor bar at Martell's Tiki Bar, posted at the top of this article, raised concerns that the pier and outdoor area had suffered damage. Martell's posted a statement on Facebook saying the damage was limited to some beach erosion and clean-up work.
