White Sands Expansion Hearing Continued In Point Pleasant Beach
The zoning board hearing will continue in hearing on a proposed addition to the hotel.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — An application by the owners of the White Sands hotel to build an addition is anticipated to have its final hearing in February.
The Point Pleasant Beach Board of Adjustment carried the hearing on the application to the Feb. 1, 2024 zoning board meeting at the end of a two-hour special session on Nov. 2.
"We really wanted to bring this to a vote tonight," said Paul Struncius, the board chairman. "I'm very, very disappointed that it's been this long.

The application, which was first filed in 2018, proposed to demolish two homes on the property and construct a three-story structure with additional guest rooms and to convert four of its existing rooms to staff support facilities and exercise rooms on two levels. The net gain of guest rooms proposed is 34. Additional parking is part of the proposal as well.
The hearing on Feb. 1 begins at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall, 416 New Jersey Ave.

The applicant completed its testimony at the Nov. 2 meeting, so the Feb. 1 hearing is anticipated to include testimony from a group of residents who object to the project, and public comment.
