• Pompton Lakes seeks $5M to replace flood-prone DPW garage (northjersey.com) — Pompton Lakes officials are pursuing $5 million in federal disaster-recovery funds to replace the borough’s flood-prone public works garage on Mill Street and add an emergency management annex. The $7.6 million project would move most operations out of the floodplain, support new sanitation services for Oakland, and could be partly funded by projected profits from that shared-services agreement. Residents can submit comments on the grant application through Sept. 24 at noon.
