$11,500 Worth Of Jewelry Stolen From Princeton Home

A Princeton local was tricked into buying gift cards to pay "Apple Support" to help them.

PRINCETON, NJ — A total of $11,500 worth of jewelry was reportedly stolen from a Princeton home last week, police report.

On Nov. 1, a 700 Block of Princeton-Kingston Road resident said that on Oct. 27 at 11 p.m. they saw a white man described as being 50 years old, 5-foot-7-inches to 5-foot-9-inches tall with a slim build leaning against their car in the driveway, according to police.

The victim said that at 1 a.m. on Oct. 28 they noticed that several pieces of jewelry valued at $11,500 had gone missing from their table.

The jewelry was last seen at 6 p.m. on Oct. 27, according to the report.

On Nov. 1 at 9:09 a.m.: The complainant reported that someone tried to cash two fraudulent checks against their business account at a Chase Bank branch. The bank manager denied the transaction after checking with the company. No monetary loss was suffered by the victim.

On Nov. 1 at 1:28 p.m.: A 600 Block Mount Lucas Road resident reported that someone deceived them into buying $6,300 worth of gift cards and then hacked their computer to access all the gift card redemption codes. The victim was told that people were placing child pornography on their computer and needed to pay "Apple Support" to help them.
