The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital.

"It wasn't until today that we found out that the bicyclist succumbed to the injuries that were sustained in that related incident," said Solovay on Tuesday.

Police are still collecting information to determine what happened, "but the preliminary investigation at the scene on the 17th was that the bicyclist fell from the vehicle and suffered injuries," said Solovay.

According to WalkablePrinceton.com, the cyclist was identified as Thejaswi Gurumurthy, 51, of West Windsor, who was an accomplished Ironman, runner, swimmer, mountaineer, and biker.

Gurumurthy reportedly got "injuries while on a training ride with friends, after hitting a pothole," according to walkableprinceton.com.

A memorial was held for Gurumurthy on Tuesday.
