Forged Check Cashed For $2,500, Packages Stolen: Princeton PD Blotter
A business check mailed from a USPS mailbox was forged and the resident lost $2,500, police said.

PRINCETON, NJ— On Sept. 1, at 2:40 p.m., a Witherspoon Street resident reported that a business check she mailed from a USPS mailbox was forged. The amount of the check was altered and successfully cashed which resulted in a monetary loss of $2,500. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
On Monday, at 5:58 a.m., a Wiggins Street resident reported that an unknown man stole three packages from her front porch and left the area in a light-colored vehicle. The theft was captured on the victim’s Ring doorbell camera, police said. Police are investigating.
On Aug. 31at 9:04 a.m., a resident from Henry Avenue reported that an unknown person entered his vehicle, that was parked in a parking garage, and rummaged through it. No items were reported stolen and the vehicle was not damaged, police said.

On Aug. 30, a woman reported that an unknown person stole her Apple iPhone that she left on a picnic table in Witherspoon Street.
Police responded to a store on North Harrison Street on Aug. 31 for a report of a man attempting to leave with a bag of items that he did not pay for. The 43-year-old Princeton resident was located by patrol and placed under arrest for shoplifting. He was charged and taken to the Mercer County Correctional Facility, police said.

On Aug. 30, a store owner in North Harrisson Street reported that an unknown man entered the retail store on multiple occasions and concealed bottles of alcohol. The man then left the store without paying for the items, police said. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
