2 Hospitalized After Princeton Driver Fails To Stop At Signal: PD

The driver was charged with DWI, aggravated assault by auto and other traffic offenses, Hamilton Police said.

PRINCETON, NJ — Two people from Mercer County suffered serious injuries after the driver of the car they were traveling in failed to stop at a traffic signal, Hamilton Police said.

On Tuesday, around 1:20 a.m., Jose Ischop Citalan, 24, of Princeton was traveling eastbound on Genesee Street, Hamilton, when he disregarded a stop sign on Chambers Street and crashed into a Cadillac, police said.

The Cadillac was traveling northbound on Chambers Street and was being driven by Hamilton resident Bret Lamoreaux, 21.

The two backseat passengers of Ischop Citalan’s car, a 23-year-old from Ewing and a 25-year-old from Princeton suffered serious injuries, police said. They were taken to Capital Health Hospital at Fuld for treatment.

Lamoreaux suffered minor injuries and was taken to RWJ Hospital in Hamilton.

Ischop Citalan was charged with DWI, aggravated assault by auto and other traffic offenses, police said.

The crash is being investigated by Officers K. McDonald and P. Micharski from the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit. Witnesses are asked to contact the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit at (609)581-4000.
