3 COVID Cases In Princeton Day School, 8th Grade Goes Remote

The school said it has completed contact tracing. The entire 8th grade will go remote till Nov. 30 after faculty tested positive for COVID.

PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton Day School reported three active COVID cases on Monday evening, resulting in the entire 8th grade going remote till Nov. 30.

Here are the cases:

  • A Middle School faculty tested positive for COVID-19. The faculty member was last on campus on Nov.10. School authorities said the faculty member does not have any children at the school.
  • A student in the Upper School tested positive. The student is a remote learner and was on campus for an extracurricular activity on Nov. 10. The student does not have any siblings currently attending the school.
  • A staff member, possibly a food service employee tested positive for COVID. The staff member was last on campus on Nov. 10.

Paul J. Stellato, head of the private school, said the Princeton Health Department has been notified of the three cases and all individuals have been asked to quarantine for 14 days.

However, the school has a cause of concern as the faculty member was in close contact with the student-athlete, both of whom tested positive for COVID.

“Upon consultation with the local health department, Princeton Day School has been advised it is safe to remain open at this time,” Stellato told the school community.

Stellato also said the school has completed contact tracing and has informed any individual who may have been in close contact with the three COVID cases.
