6 To Run For 3 Seats On Princeton School Board of Education
None of the incumbents opted to run in this year's elections.

PRINCETON, NJ — A total of six people have filed petitions to run in this year’s Board of Education elections in the Princeton Public School District. However, none of the three incumbents decided to run for any of the three open seats that carry three-year terms, according to the Mercer County Clerk's Office.
The six who filed petitions by the 4 p.m. deadline Monday afternoon included Beth Behrend, Jenny Ludmer, Julie Ramirez, Jessica Deutsch, Michele Tuck-Ponder and James Fields. Incumbents Fern Spruill, Justin Doran and Connie Witter all opted not to run for re-election.
Additionally, five people filed petitions to run on the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School Board, including Princeton resident Yanping “Helen” Ming. The others include Dana Krug, of West Windsor; Martin Whitfield, of West Windsor; Veronica Mehno, of Princeton Junction; and Rakesh Kak, of West Windsor. There are two, three-year seats available.

A Princeton resident is also running for a seat on the Hopewell Valley Regional School Board. Adam J. Sawicki Jr. was one of five candidates to file a petition. The others included Alyce Murray, of Pennington; Darius Matthews, of Pennington; David A. Bairo, of Hopewell; and Sarah Tracy, of Pennington.
Friday, Aug. 4, is the deadline for challenges to nominating petitions in this year’s school board elections. Election Day is Nov. 7.
