70-Year-Old Princeton Man Dies After Hit Crossing Street
Michael Reiss was walking in the crosswalk when he was hit by a large pick-up truck and knocked to the ground, police say.

PRINCETON, NJ — A 70-year-old Princeton man has died from his injuries after being hit by a large pick-up truck while crossing a town street last week, police said.
Michael Reiss was walking in the crosswalk when he was hit at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Washington Road on July 30 at 10:30 a.m., Princeton Police Lt. Frederick R. Williams said.
A Ford F350 pick-up truck, driven by Antonio Pirone 42, of Princeton, was stopped facing west at the traffic light on Prospect Avenue. When the light turned green, Pirone turned left onto the southbound side of Washington Road, Williams said.

Reiss was walking in the crosswalk and was about halfway across Washington Road when he was hit, Williams said.
Pirone's driver's side front bumper hit Reiss causing him to be knocked to the ground, roll and then hit the back of his head on the pavement, Williams said.

Reiss was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment for his injuries. He was later moved to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia for further treatment. On Friday, Aug. 2, Princeton Police were notified by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office that Reiss died from his injuries on Aug. 1.
Pirone was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. All aspects of the crash remain under investigation at this time.
