Aggravated Assault, Theft: Princeton Police Blotter
A 76-year-old Trenton man randomly approached a woman and struck her on the arm, head and back, police said.

PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton Police Blotter dated Feb. 6 contains the following reports:
On Jan. 30, around 12:13 p.m. officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Elm Road. A 25-year-old Trenton resident was found to be driving with a suspended license and two active warrants totaling $3,050. He was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where he was processed and released with new court dates.
On Jan. 30 at 9:45 a.m. police responded to North Harrison Street for a report of an assault. According to investigation, a 76-year-old Trenton resident randomly approached a woman in an aggressive manner and struck her in the arm, head and back with a 4’ hydrant/utility-making pole as she was walking outside. Police located the man and took him in custody. He was taken to headquarters where he was processed and charged accordingly.

On Fed. 3, at 9:55 p.m., police received a call about an unwanted person on the property of a private school on Great Road. When police arrived, they found a 24-year-old Princeton man attempting to leave in his vehicle, and struck a chain link fence. He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and was taken to headquarters where he was charged.
On Feb. 3 at 10:45 p.m. police responded to the Grover Park snack stand and found that an unknown actor(s) forced entry into the structure sometime between Jan. 27 and Jan. 30 through the side entrance door. The intruder consumed food and beverages that were stored inside, police said. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

On Feb. 4 at 3:55 p.m. police responded to the area of Nassau Street and Palmer Square West on a report of a shoplifter that had been confronted by a store owner on the sidewalk. According to investigation, the 20-year-old California resident, took and concealed an item from a retail store on Hulfish Street, before leaving the store. He was arrested and a search revealed he was in possession of a magnetic clothing tag detacher. The man was charged and released.
