Alleged Princeton Bank Robber Captured: Police

A man arrested in an Applebee's parking lot in Hillsborough has been charged with a bank robbery in Princeton.

PRINCETON, NJ — A Hillsborough man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery that took place in Princeton two weeks ago, police announced Tuesday morning. Quentin D. Watson, 50, was arrested without incident on a traffic warrant in an Applebee’s parking lot in Hillsborough, on Friday, Nov. 3, at 7:34 p.m., according to the Princeton Police Department.

Police believe Watson is the man who made off with an as yet determined amount of cash from the Santander Bank located at 188 Nassau Street, at about 4:23 p.m. on Oct. 26. Police say he handed the teller a note demanding cash. After receiving the cash, he walked out of the bank toward Park Place, according to police.

Police released information about the robbery, including an image of the suspect, the same day. Through information received from witnesses who recognized him, police were able to identify the man as Watson.

That information was reviewed along with other information that came as a result of a joint investigation involving Princeton police, Franklin Township police, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, Hillsborough police, and the FBI. Watson was arrested as a result of the investigation, and has been charged with the Santander Bank robbery. He remains innocent until proven guilty.
