• NJ rents continue to rise. Mercer County saw the biggest jump over the past year. • Jersey Vindicator (jerseyvindicator.org) — If you rent in Princeton, brace for higher costs: Mercer County, which includes Princeton, saw the biggest rent jumps in New Jersey this year, with increases up to about 17 percent. New HUD estimates show two-bedroom rents in the county now topping $2,200, far outpacing the statewide average and adding thousands of dollars a year for local tenants.
