Back-To-School Jam Scheduled For Thursday In Princeton
The event is open to the public and will be held at the YMCA, Paul Robeson Place, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
PRINCETON, NJ — The third annual Back-to-School Jam is scheduled for Thursday in Princeton. The event will feature a community picnic, partially funded by PRESSA – the local union comprised of the school district’s Custodians/Trades/Grounds Crew, Secretaries and Instructional/Bus/Playground/Cafeteria Aides.
There will be free food, free school supplies, music, and different community groups will have tables to interact with residents and students. The groups include the Black Student Union Group, Princeton Police, Not in Out Town, Princeton Parents for Black Children, Princeton Regional Education Association, Black Affinity Club, MSAN, PULSE, Young Scholars Institute and Witherspoon Jackson Historical Society.
The event is being held to connect with the Black Affinity Parent Group, the Black Educators Association (BEACON) teachers/educators of color, and the Black Affinity student group.

The goal of the picnic is to network, build community involvement and uplift the black student population.
